I am sure a lot of you out there have had experiences with the infamous OUIJI board (good or bad). We would like detailed accounts to include in our magazine. I feel we can all learn from these experiences. Only serious, detailed, accurate accounts are what we are after. Pictures would be helpful as well. Take a look at how we present our stories (check out the Exorcist articles that compare the facts from fiction) to get an idea of the format we use.
My experiences have been nothing but negative. I would say, yes it is a tool, not a toy. This is purely unbelievable unless you went through it, but as a child my sister got one for either christmas or her birthday. We had a couple of strange happenings with it that scared me pretty badly. One evening I took the board to the burning barrel, tossed it into the hot ashes. The next day it was upstairs again with no marks on it what so ever. Definitely an odd experience.
I would tend to agree with DrSteve. A Ouija board is a tool, not a toy. Just like any tool it can be misused. I've seen earthbound spirits become attached to tarot decks and pendulums.
I've been told by spirits that dowsing rods 'hurt' when crossed through them but my point is that as long as you are careful and protect yourself, it goes a long way towards making the experience safer and far more pleasant.
It's not a game, but an experiment just like anything in the paranormal field.
All I can tell you is that my cousin who is a psychic said, only evil comes from ouija boards and not to have one in your house. So of course, we threw ours away.
this is not a toy you open a door to something you will not like. it is ok if you open with protection and someone experianced is there to assist if someone who has no clue uses it they open up the gateway and all that resides on the other side good and bad can come threw and i have seen that happen as well. please if ever using a board protect yourself and those around you and when done close the door send back what you brought into this world.
spirits get stronger off of fear and weakness it builds their energy.
the story i will share is just one when i was 18 i had a friend she used to play around with the board all the time one day i saw her and she was a very good looking young lady she had scratch marks on both sides of her face deep wounds when i had asked her what had happened she told me that the spirit she was working with on the board told her to do it did she protect herself no did she leave that spirit in this world yes it followed her and it tool 6 months and alot of help from alot of people and an orthadox priest to help her.
so you want to play with the board do so at your own risk but remember you have been warned of its effects this is not a toy folks be careful very very careful open with a prayer and ask all that had come the to go back and end with a blessing.
so many people have played with this and as stated it is not a toy i know i am not the only one that has a story.
part 2 was a friend had one and tried to get rid of it he placed it out to the trash after strange things were happening in his home his wife had been playing with it and said it was saying weird things and she insisted he get rid of it so he figured he would put it in the trash well he did that nite when he came home and went to get some clothes out of the closet the board was back in there. the next day he took and burned the board. so you decide is it a toy?
I have not had any experiences but if you check out my Moms site (user name Morath) and send her a message she has some crazy stories that she can share about the Ouija Board. Just to help point you in a direction.
I do not believe in the OUIJA board for anything more than entertainment but I must admit there are 2 instances in my life involving a OUIJA board that I thought strange.
The first involves my mother and aunt. They were avid users of the board. I say board because they obtained the passion from their mothers who did it before it was called a OUIJA board and popularized by Parker. I used to watch them from the time I was little and was amazed how the planchet moved by itself. Now my father was a little on the religious side. One day while they were doing their thing my dad walked up behind my mother and doused the board with holy water he got from the church and made the sign of the cross. I'll be darned. It never worked for them again. I wish I had that board now. It was old when I was a kid in the 50's.
The second was when I lived in an apartment behind a row of stores across from the Burlington County Prision in NJ. I bought one just to have fun and pass the time. Now I can't remember why but I decided to get rid of it so I threw it out in the trash. The next day it was by my front door. This happened several times. I finally took it down the street and threw it in a dumpster. It returned. Now if I would have had friends in the area or someone would heve seen me throw it away I would just say it was someone messing with me. Well, I threw it in the dumpster once more and found it perched on top of the dumpster after it had been dumped that morning. I finally burned it and was never bothered by it again. Even though I don't believe it, I have never gotten another one. Hey, you never know...
One experience I will admit freaked me out to the point I never wanted to do it again, yet it was addicting so I did any way...for a little while.
I introduced the ouija board to a friend while we were in 8th grade (I had been introduced a year prior). I would make my own with paper, pen, and cardboard planchette. We started to play, and it was going right away. We were talking to a spirit named "Dara" - a 17 year old girl who said she died of leukemia. After talking to her for a while, we ended the session and went to bed.
After that night, my friend starting acting strange. The way she laughed, the way she talked. Then she started talking about that she saw in reflections not herself, but a girl with blonde hair. She also started saying she was hearing voices in her head telling her to kill herself.
We played the board again, and "Dara" came through again and said she was the one doing that to my friend. After this was going on for a few months, my friend was having an episode while spending the night at my place. Another friend of mine was there, so we decided to do a mini-exorcism. We put a cross in her hand, and she said it burned and that the voices were getting louder.
After the "exorcism", my friend was fine, and "Dara" was not a part of our lives any more. Whether it sounds believeable or not, it's a personal experience that me, and my two friends share - even if the one said she was faking it the whole time (it's not in her personality to act the way she did)
