Journal of Happenings at Elsing's 2nd Hand Shop

My sister was at our shop today. She was waiting for some phone calls. While there, we went outside for a break. On the way back in, we have to go through a swinging door to enter the shop. My sister went to open the door and the door flew open hitting the wall really hard. I said to my sister, gee, you don't have to push the door that hard. She told me that she didn't hardly touch it. She put her hand on it and it just flew open really fast. She keeps telling me that she really didn't push the door hard at all. She is having a hard time getting over this one.

Today at the shop, some new people came in to look around. They had never been in the shop before. They knew nothing about the building being haunted. They all walked downstairs to check out our rooms. While walking down the hallway to the book room, suddenly they got chills, their hair stood on end. They had no idea what was going on. When they came upstairs they heard a few of our customers talking to Phil about our haunted building. They then found out that the building was haunted and they told Phil what had happened to them while downstairs.
Also a mother and daughter were in the shop. I don't know if these people were new or not. While downstairs looking around, after they left the furniture room, a music box started going off for no reason what so ever. They came upstairs to tell Phil all about it. I have no idea what made this music box start to play. They didn't have any idea either. They did think it was very strange and wanted to tell Phil about it right away.

Today at the shop our friend Jim stopped in to see us. Jim went downstairs and Baxter followed him. They are the best of buddies. Both of the boys just love Jim. While downstairs, Baxter suddenly went running upstairs. I'm not sure what happened to him. When Jim came upstairs, I asked him what had happened?. Jim said, suddenly Baxter went running upstairs, it seemed like he was running from something. He ran into something on his way up the stairs. Jim didn't see anything, just that Baxter took off for the upstairs really fast.
Jim then walked out into the back room to straighten out some tools. He loves to help Phil and I in any way he can. While Jim was out there, suddenly Baxter went running again like he was afraid of something. He rounded the corner and ran right into the shelf. By the time Jim and I got to Baxter his little heart was just thumping and he was shaking like crazy. Otis looked really worried about his little buddy. Jim finely sat on the floor with Baxter and calmed him down. It took about a half hour to get him to stop shaking.
Shortly after that happened, the table tipping ladies, from a few weekends ago, happened to come into the shop. The first thing they said to me was, the shop felt very active today compared to the other night when they had come in to contact the spirits. I told them what had happened to Baxter, they then told me that the spirits were messing with him.
April 4, 2009
While open for business, it was getting close to closing time. Phil told me that he felt a cool breeze go by him. It gave him a chill. I told him it could be the ceiling fan, but we both said, why would we not of felt that everyday. The ceiling fan runs twenty-four hours a day. Phil said, he has felt this before and always wondered. Could it be the spirits in the building doing this? Could be.
After we had closed the shop for the day, Phil went downstairs to shut off all the lights. He went around the corner to head down the hallway and he said he could smell something like flowers. It was a strong smell, but he couldn't make out what type of flower it was. He kept walking down the hallway, to shut off the lights in the book room and the holiday room and then walked back down the hallway to come back upstairs. He stopped to see if he could still smell what he had smelled when he first walked downstairs. Nothing, the smell was gone. He sniffed around a little more and could not find the smell back again. He then came upstairs and told me about it.
