I have experienced sleep paralsis once in my  life.
I was a wonderer in my younger years. I would travel the country on foot experiencing life.
I was in alabama and I met some people that was into spirituality/witch craft of some sort, never really took time to explore that. I just know that my energy and awarness was high when I was near them. It was a stange experience for sure. 
I was just a free spirit.  I was invitied to stay with some people in there home. They could feel an energy that was strong and a big light around me, "they told me. " That night I went to bed and something happened to me. I guess I was in the middle of something. The people there told me that they had some people that was dark that was against them for some reason. None of this made any since to me at all. For at this time I knew nothing about any of this. (I just knew I have had strange things happen to me all my  life.  I just lived with it and didnt discuss it with no one.) (there is a long story why I didnt I will not go into that at this time). Any way, I could see little sparks above my head and all in the room. I felt like I was screaming out and no one could hear me. The lady that lived in the house came to me. I guess it was telepathy that she heard me. She came to my bedside and was freaked out when she saw what I was seeing. I could not move, my eyes was opened, but I could not move at all. My thoughts was there. She called a friend of her's with more knowledge of what was going on.  He said that these people had casted a spell over me. To harness my energy/light.  OMG! I was like totally, in the dark about spells and what have you. I dont know any thing about that.  Anyway, he went out side and put salt around the house and prayed or something over me. He sat at my bedside for hours and finally I could move again. He told me he would stay there with me durning the night so I could relax and get some rest.
I dont know what happened to me.  I left the next day that was enough for me ...lol
I still dont know what happened to me. But if the purpose was to get me to move along down the road I sure did so. This is the only experience I had with sleep paralsis.
