Ghosts and goblins are emerging from their hiding places as Halloween approaches. But on Oct. 31, 2009, Elsing’s 2nd Hand Shop in Stoughton, Wis., will be hosting its second paranormal public event - it is a location where the spirits never rest.
Paranormal Investigators of Milwaukee (PIM) will be on location to discuss things of the paranormal with the public. PIM has investigated the store on several occasions, and has captured several examples of evidence to prove the location is haunted.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., group members, including founder Noah Leigh, will be on hand to answer questions about hauntings, ghosts and spirits. A demonstration about how different electrical meters are used during investigations will also be done around 2 p.m.
The group will also have audio and video evidence to share with the public of their findings at Elsing’s and other investigations the group has done.
Purchased by Phil and Vicky Elsing in 2004, Elsing’s 2nd Hand Shop was originally built in 1891. A long history of being a brothel, grocery store and restaurant are all part of its reputation.
The Elsings have documented paranormal occurrences they've experienced in the building - including items floating off shelves, hearing unexplained sounds and the sound of breaking glass when nothing has broken. Vicky Elsing wrote a book, "The Grand Hotel Legacy," about the several paranormal groups that have investigated the building. Copies of her book will be available for purchase during the event.
The public event being presented by PIM is free to the public. The store is located at 421 E. Main St., Stoughton, Wis. PIM and the Elsings personally invite you to stop by to ask questions.
If you have any questions in regarding the event, please call Vicky Elsing at (608) 873-8997, or Noah Leigh at (414) 460-5267.
