We can't say enough about Otis. He was the most wonderful pet ever!! He was also the most wonderful door greeter and friend. Everyone who met Otis, fell in love with him. Otis is going to be missed by so many people, friends and family. He is missed so much by us and his new friend Baxter. Baxter is having a very hard time, not having Otis around. We do have to say though. Otis trained Baxter well.
Otis was a beautiful caring friend to everyone and most of all to us. It's been very hard not to have him around anymore, but he is in our hearts and memories. Those memories will last forever!!! We have always had such great times with Otis. He loved to go camping and riding on the golf cart. He loved to play with anyone that would play with him. He loved to go visit Grandma and Grandpa. Yes, he knew when you said Grandma and Grandpa where he was going. He understood everything. He had a big heart and loved everyone.
He loved greeting people coming into the shop. Yes, Otis loved his job. He loved making new friends. We brought him home a puppy named Baxter about 1 1/2 years ago. Otis helped us pick Baxter out. We took Otis back for visits before Baxter was ready to come home with us. The two took to each other so good. We knew it was a match made in heaven.
Otis turned into the biggest mother hen ever. He taught Baxter right from wrong. He taught him how to meet customers at the door and best of all, he taught Baxter how to beg for treats by the cash register. The two were never apart from each other. When Otis laid down, Baxter would go lay as close as he could to him, if not on top of him. They loved each other so much.
After we came home from the vet that night, we could see the loss that Baxter felt. He loved his Otis so much. I never thought a dog would grieve like humans, but Baxter did. He cried and even had tears. It was unreal the love these two dog had for each other.
So if you come into the shop, please give Baxter an extra hug. He really needs them right now.
