I got a really weird email this morning from some lady asking if we would video tape her death and have voice recorders running for EVPs. Uh, obviously I didn't respond. Just wanted to share that with everybody.

Something like that might prove if family and friends from beyond do come and greet you at the moment of death. Those voices could be caught on evps. It is a weird thing to ask somone, but it might pay off doing so.

I hate to post this but I kind of laughed at that. Why would she want to do that? I mean, it's interesting, but really?

How sincere was her request? Is there a way for you to talk with her more and find out the hows and whys of her request? 

Some people believe that it takes a few days for a spirit to "adjust" before communicating, some people believe that it can be instantaneous especially if that person passed quickly without being able to tell their loved ones what happened.

A person's last request isn't something to laugh at, no matter how strange it seems to us.  This request seems relatively simple.  Get to know this lady first, and then make your decision from there. 
Who knows, you might be able to capture something that no one has ever captured before.

You should perhaps check with her family to verify the validity of the request... It could be a hoax, perhaps not.  If not, then she has a reason for wanting you to do this thing.  How is it she chose YOU?  Does she know you?  If everything is on the up and up, then you should try to accomodate this request.  It has the potential of opening a great deal of information to you and the rest of the paranormal field.  Don't dismiss it without checking it out first.

For clarification, this woman didn't email me from her deathbed so if I don't do it it won't be like I'm disrespecting her dying wish. She said it would be from natural causes years down the road, but most of the people in her family died in their 50s and she's in her 50s now. Interesting, sure, but it's just so morbid. If she's serious about it, I'm sure she can find someone else.

It's too bad you are passing up this opportunity.  From what you say, she's at the same age that the rest of her family has passed away, so actually she may not have the "many years from now".  If you are uncomfortable with it, then at least let her know kindly that you do not want to do it and give her the names of a few people who would want to do it.  Look at it as good customer service.   After all, she did ask you, and you are in the paranormal business.  What could be more paranormal than getting documentation on what happens to a person when they die? Maybe you are just uncomfortable with the fact you would have to be around death as it happens. That's an honest fear. But please, at least be kind to this lady and find someone who can help her.  Don't be calling her weird when she came to you as a customer.
Trust me, if you do help her, even if it's finding someone else to fulfill her wish, you won't have any regrets.

I would be very Interested in a case like this, If she was sincere about her wishes.
I was with my grandmother In the hospital holding her hand until she past, later wishing I would of had my voice recorder with me..

If you are just wanting other Investigators with you I'll be more then happy to be there.
or If you would just like to pass this case over to another group I know I could get other Investigators for the case..

Wow, what a request, I don't know if I would be able to do that either, but let me share this thought with you. I was with my Grandma shortly before she passed. I believe she was visited several times by my already deceased Grandpa several times in the last few weeks before she passed. She would greet him and talk to him as if he had come into the room to talk to her. On the afternoon that she died, the last words she spoke were to him, and she told him that she was ready now. As a  family member I don't know how I would have felt about it, if an outsider had been there taping this, but as an investigator I think there could be some really outstanding potential for evidence. I agree with the others here that someone should visit with this lady and find out why she wants this done. It could be her own interest in the Paranormal that is driving it. If that is the case, someone should see that it happens, but there needs to be some groundwork with her family before the time comes.
