No offense intended to any group of Paranormal Investigators and Ghost Hunters, but I have been wondering WHY many of them, if not all do their operations during night time. Was it because they believe that ghosts manifest only during this time? Or because they just wanted to feel the excitement that night time darkness can offer to their job?
It is a well known fact, based on many people's experiences that ghosts manifest at no specific hour of the day. In the morning, in midday, in the afternoon, at night and in the wee hours of the morning when almost all God's beloved creatures are fast asleep.
I for one, have many creepy experiences about ghosts that happened during day time. In fact, I have in my possession numerous ghost photos that I took personally. And they are more of apparition photos not orbs, ectoplasm or vortexes pictures.
I really find it more effective to capture ghosts and other spirits during the day, for I will not be using flashbulbs that in often times adding creepiness to a picture that could lead me to believe that what I have captured is a ghostly activity when in fact, it's only the light effects of my camera.
In my beloved country, the Phillippines (I'm proud to be a Filipino!) ghost hunting is totally absurd. If you want to hunt for ghost here, you have to keep it secret to everybody (but for only selected ones who share with your own belief) or else you'll find yourself to be a laughing stock. Even those involved in the paranormal research, they brand them as ABnormal instead of PARAnormal.
While in other countries, such as in the U.S. they can openly parade on the streets and be interviewed in television shows wearing proudly their uniforms bearing the title PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR.
While this is true in our country, we do not lack ghost reserves. We have many interesting sites here suitable for ghost hunting. But very few of us here have openly operate as ghost hunters. Those who have the courage to hunt for ghosts do it on their own way without really creating a group that would banner their task.

After a few articles I blogged were published in some websites on the internet, seemingly questioning the credibility of some self-proclaimed paranormal researchers that proliferate in our midst, numerous phone calls and emails addressed to me reached my office, asking if included in my so-called “chastening” the many paranormal investigators’ groups that are also sprouting day by day in every part of the world. I decided to break the ice and issue some clarifications. Firstly, I am not an authority to censure anybody nor do I have an ounce of power to do anything similar to that. What may be perceived by some as chastening was the way I deliver my statements – but those were based solely on my own research and personal experiences and nobody could undermine my freedom to express what I do believe. But if at any rate they want me to proclaim my stand on the said issue, definitely, my answer is a big NO. There are some paranormal investigators that inadvertently included in the groups that I tried to “enlighten” just because they are also acting as “researchers” on hollow grounds. There is a big difference between a paranormal investigator and a paranormal researcher. Mere paranormal investigators are simply investigating strange occurrences and trying to find a solution to the problem bugging the people while paranormal researchers are the ones who explain things concerning the paranormal based on what they have learned and theorized.
Most of the times, many fly-by-night paranormal researchers are acting on their own, feeding the people with theories that are farthest from the truth, and sadly, multitudes had given their attention and believed on the baseless facts that came from these bogus researchers. On the other hand, paranormal investigators do a lot of personal sacrifice just to lend a hand to those people who are in need of their valuable assistance. They spend their money, time and effort just to pursue a noble endeavor, and that is to help people get rid of their fear of the Unknown. And who can refute the fact, that they are the new heroes of our time.

Greetings to all,
These are some thoughts on my personal encounters with the paranormal and recent research that could somehow revolutionize the many wild ideas that encompass the belief of the Unknown.
But before that, I would like to inform everybody that I wrote this blog with no hidden agenda or intentions whatsoever of attacking or discrediting other's beliefs but only to express my own opinion based on my personal experiences and recent research as I trudge along the sticky road to the Paranormal.
Let all be reminded, that all that we were taught by our mentors in school, from day one up to the time we graduated from the highest learning that we had, or learned from other sources such as books that we read, if we find no time to practice it, or came in to experience what we were taught, all learnings that there are, could remain a theory, void of truth, and secondary only to nothing. It is somehow a well-accepted notion, that personal experience, no matter how strange it is, how deviant it is from what was taught us, is the greatest, and still the best teacher. I have said it before but I'll say it once more, that there were really times when truth is stranger than fiction and actual experience finds conflict with traditional belief and practice. When one is taught a "truth" and eventually experience its contradiction, this person will never find wisdom but confusion. Reality differs significantly with conceived theories and fanciful and wild thinking. Many among us are talking about the paranormal, the way we were taught and the way what we have learned of it. But the most intriguing question is, did we experience personally what we were taught or what we have learned? Just like when somebody is having his day in a courtroom, how could he testify for a "truth" if he was not an eyewitness to that "truth?" And besides, he will not be a relevant witness until he submitted a corroborating testimony and substantial evidence as proof thereof.
There are now many people who are really engaged in something they really do not understand. Something spiritual that they try to deal with physically if only to quench the thirst of their curiosity. But unless they have "experienced" the paranormal reality without using any man-made tools, they could gain nothing. There is a reason to believe, that as physical things can only be understood and created by physical beings, so much so that spiritual things can only be well-understood and created by spiritual beings. And it takes one talent to learn them both.

This is a true experience, and it goes on without saying, that EXPERIENCE is the BEST TEACHER and TRUTH is really STRANGER than FICTION and many THEORIES, which were only formulated by WILD THINKING. Here goes my story:
It could have been an ordinary commemoration of the death anniversary of a beloved father. Until a snap shot revealed an unseen somebody was there near Papa’s grave that does not belong to the commemorators. A cloud-like image not visible to the human eye but can only be seen on the screen of the digital camera suddenly appeared overhead of a younger brother… sending chills to everybody… and joy… believing that Papa was there with us at those precious moments of remembering his untimely demise!
It was the 9th death anniversary of a long lost father. Almost always loved but sometimes hated and misunderstood by the way he managed the affairs of the family when he was still with us. He ruled with an iron hand, but even so, through his ways he was a successful provider of a big family. Like a commander-in-chief of a country’s armed forces, he was the “all right,” and the “must” to follow, and by this yardstick, he was the family’s symbol of power and authority and the figure head of the family’s pride and dignity, till death call it quits…
Though a quite big number of family members were not able to visit the cemetery in the occasion of our father’s death anniversary last March 3, 2007, due to some important businesses to attend to, and the others are living outside the country including mother who is in the United States, other clan members tried to fill up their absence by the number of their children taken to the site.
We were there to reminisce the days when Papa was still here. We were there to say to Papa, we miss you, we love you! And we prayed that the Lord grant mercy on him…on his soul. Many years have passed since his demise but his memory still lingers on…day by day…year after year.
It was around past 5 p.m. and it’s getting dark so we all decided to end this day and go home. The weather was quite fair and dry, though the sky was hinting a late night shower. I, the eldest brother suddenly announced a picture-taking as the group prepared for departure. Because of this, all scrambled for a pose in front of the camera. One non-relative companion volunteered to take the shots so that I could join the posing group. After the camera was handed back to me, I took all the remaining shots, including the one that revealed a ghostly cloud that passed over the head of my younger brother.
It was really a hair-raising experience. Immediately after taking that shot, I looked on and off at the camera’s viewer and my brother interchangeably, but this mysterious smoke-like image was available only on screen. I showed my camera to everybody to take a look at my mysterious find. And right after everyone had a glimpse at the camera’s monitor, nobody bothered neither to comment nor to speak of a single word but in unison hurriedly left the place. When we arrived home, I quickly downloaded the pictures to my computer and scrutinized every photograph that I took at the cemetery. And this particular shot was really very different from the other.
A year ago, on the same spot at the cemetery, I also took a snap shot of my father’s grave, using a different camera, an instamatic camera. When the film was developed and scanned to the computer, I found four floating ghostly faces of a woman and 3 men near my father’s grave. I even noticed that one of the men’s faces resembled that of Papa. As I carefully examined the ghostly images on the picture, the woman's image seemed also familiar to me and decided to talk to a friend who is visiting a nearby grave every November 1st each year.
Eventually, I succeeded in meeting this friend when All Saint’s Day came. I promptly informed him all about this photograph and he obliged to visit my house that same night to see it on my personal computer.
When my friend saw the ghostly images, he looked completely shocked and terrified. And after minutes of looking at the woman’s ghostly image, he was teary-eyed to confirm that its resemblance is very close to his wife that passed away a few years ago. Asking if I had seen his wife while this was still alive, my friend showed me a framed picture of hers, sending ice-cold chills to my body and could not move my lips to speak for a number of minutes as the picture is 100% look-alike of the woman ghost in the picture being viewed on my computer’s screen monitor!

This story must have been written in a book of fairy tales for it may sound incredible and unbelievable to many who would happen to read this here, but for the less than 50 persons who witnessed this scary event, it's as real as the sun rises in the morning in a very clear skies. It was only unfortunate that no one had the time to record it in film or even in a mobile phone camera.
It was just a simple birthday party given by my brothers and sisters where only the closest of friends were invited, on the night of June 6, 2008 in honor of this writer. It was in the middle of the party, where almost everyone was half-full of some foods and drinks, having a noisy chat coming from all directions, as if they were in a market place, when the lights went off.
At first, everybody thought of a brown-out in the community, but immediately debunked the idea after observing that nearby houses were lighted except the residence of this writer. So someone stood up to check the switch box and the electrical wirings but before he could touch anything, a strange light from nowhere descends and struck the head of this writer. It was only a matter of around 3 to 5 seconds, from the time it existed up to the time it's gone. It was like somebody who is holding a flashlight directed it to the head of this writer.
But the fact that there's nobody at that moment holding anything but glasses of beer, and the speeding light was seen descending from the night skies so swiftly, all were speechless until the lights of the house went back after less than 5 more minutes. Some visitors asked if this was some kind of a trick or a part of the show to add color to the party, but no one could make a concrete guess even this writer. The party ended after two more hours without any more untoward incident happened.
As for this writer, who was certainly very happy on the night of his birthday, it's not a problem for him where that mysterious light came from, what is important for him now is a new direction from Above.

Is it possible to take a picture of ghost? Can it be captured by a camera? These are the usual questions being poked both by the uninformed individual and skeptics. But if we consider the tons of tons of documented pictures of captured ghost pictures around the world, the big answer is…Yes!
Would you believe that what our naked eyes could not detect can be detected by any appropriate man-made machines or apparatus? According to our science books, the human eye has receptors that are sensitive to electromagnetic radiation in the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum. These light receptors, however, are insensitive to electromagnetic radiation at other wavelengths; thus radio waves or X-rays cannot be seen because no sense organ can react to them and send a nerve impulse to an appropriate area of the brain. But we use a radio unit to hear music and other programs that is supported by radio waves, and an X-ray machine for medical purposes for that matter. It is in the same manner that what our naked eyes “cannot catch” can be caught by a camera.
Since the successful invention of the camera in 1839, man has been enticed to the expediency of this tool, especially in documenting and recording of important events. It is being used for personal and commercial purposes but never was it used for other agenda until some “sensitive” people in the past noticed something weird things in their pictures taken by a camera. This was the dawn of the information of the additional use of this tool, that it is able to record paranormal occurrences.
How many times have we taken a series of photographs at family events, special events or the like and found that a few of the photos have strange phenomena appearing in them? White balls in the middle of the air, smoke or mist looming curiously around an individual, or black shadows in the middle of the day time. If one is lucky enough, in some occasions, he could capture clear images of persons not present when the picture was taken and are presumed dead for a long time.
Capturing ghosts’ images by a camera could happen unintentionally although many among us now are ghost hunters, hunting ghosts’ images in photographs. Spirits are believed to be distracted by the noise created by the living. Contrary to some beliefs, the more people that are merry making inside a house, the more these ghosts would find their way to make their presence felt. But sure, it’s very hard for us to discern ghostly activity when we are in the middle of a noisy celebration.
Do you have pictures taken, preferably, in an old house or a usually deserted place, say, a cemetery? Try to examine those pictures in minute details and you’ll end up seeing paranormal images on them. The only problem you will encounter is how to really prove that what you have seen is a ghost, because not all anomalies that you will see in a picture have paranormal or supernatural causes. There are perceived anomalies that could be explained by natural causes. You must always put a heavy weight on what you see and the explanations you reveal. Always be ready to back up your opinion with logical reasoning.
There are basic photographic rules everyone must keep in mind as they look at pictures they have taken. One of the most important is the environment. What is it like outside (or inside, for that matter)? Rain or snow will make any outdoor psychic photography useless. As the flash goes off, every rain drop or snow flake will reflect back giving the appearance of a multitude of "ghost globules", round transparent balls that are produced by spirits. Foggy or misty conditions are also deterrents outdoors as well as a very smoky indoor environment. If it is very cold outdoors, remember that the steam from your breath can also appear on film. And the effects of temperature on the camera itself may be troublesome. As an example, going from the warm indoors to a cold outdoors may cause both the inner and outer lenses of a camera to fog up.
Another factor to take into account is the condition of the camera itself. Are the lenses clean. A water spot, or particle of dust on the lens can give the appearance of a ghost globule on film. Often, a water spot can be very minuscule, such as from a very fine mist from fog. Additionally, how you handle the film is very important. Do not allow any exposure of the film to any kind of light, natural or artificial. I have seen hundreds of photos taken that revealed a red or orange tinted glow, typically only on one side of the picture and upon review of the negative, it was discovered that frame was usually the first frame on the film. That occurs when the film is loaded into the camera under a light, sometimes the first (and even the second) frame becomes exposed to light during loading.
The best thing to do to be very sure that what you have just captured in your pictures is a real ghost is to consult authorities on paranormal research. These people had spent many of their times researching, examining, carefully evaluating paranormal occurrences and photograph anomalies. When you do it yourself, it is like taking some medicines for your chest pains without first consulting a physician. Until you realize in the end that your health problem is getting worst.
This is especially true when a suspected haunting in your house is giving you a big problem. You took pictures and suspects that some entities from the other world have made your house their place of abode. You cannot fully understand what to do if you do not know what is really bothering your home. Are they spirits of dead people or, elemental beings? Or maybe the haunting has something to do with your house past history? Or the problem lies within you or, one of your family members?
But remember, if worst comes to worst, the only shield that we can get when something or someone is bothering our home is the Shield of Faith in God. Pray fervently that He help you get out of it. And He will surely make a way for you.
On my own experience, as I trudge along the path to the paranormal world, where confrontation with spirit entities became part of my everyday life, I found only ONE NAME that could cast out even the most demonic spirit, JESUS. In several occasions that I felt that I was being overcome by these unseen beings, I promptly called out His Name and they left me in peace.
Non-believers, I beg your pardon, I don’t intend to offend other religions and what I am saying is my personal conviction based truly on my own observations and personal experiences.
