Another experience
Posted On 09/09/2008 12:46.59 PM

HOWDY!! Everyone who reads this blog of ramblings.

I had a strange experience yesterday as I was folding/hanging clothes in my bedroom. I had went in and out of the room all morning, since 4:30am and it was around 10:35am when I had just hung some of my husbands shirts in the closet. Just as I turned and had the door parcially closed I felt a chill and then heard what sounded like a loud drawn out sigh.

I was alone at the time as my daughter and husband had gone to work. Just me and my cat and she can not make that noise. LOL

I checked in the closet and to see if the window was open, nothing. Hmmmmm well it is paranormal until I figure it out. LOL

I know that it has nothing to do with this being a brand new house, built in 2004. We had to wait until they finished building it so we could move in. I checked out the property a while back and I found the old man who had owned this property. He said this was a cow pasture as long as he could remember and that his dad had owned it before him. So from 1899 to 1980 this was a cow pasture then it was sold as a subdivision. I have no idea what was here before, but I do know that the revalutionary war and civil war were both fought in this area. So it could be a property haunt. Who knows, LOL.

Well that was my day yesterday 8 sept 2008.

Many blessings to all who read this.

My first memory of my childhood home.....
Posted On 08/06/2008 02:40.06 PM

...And my first paranormal experience.

We moved into our house when I was just weeks into 4 years old, July 1966. The house was old dark and in need of repair. There were 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, and the creepiest attic and basement I had ever seen. The basement was half finished and the back part had a big squeeky door that looked like a dougeon door. Big and heavy with metal bands across it. It had a nerve wracking screech when it opened. We called the dirt floored and dark area behind the door The dark basement". CREEPY!!
It was an old farm house that was 75 years old at the time. That is what we were told then. It begain life as a pay shack for a clay mine in NE Kentucky. It had 3 big rooms then and a porch that went all the way around it. It had a two sided fire place right in the middle.
When we moved in all the grass was as tall as me and it had a huge barn like smoke house a few yards from the house. The weathered wood smelled of smoke and rats. I remember seeing big barrels sitting in the NW corner and had this big old sythe and a hay fork on the wall. The floor had holes you could see the dirt underneath. Both the house and smoke house had big rocks as foundations and pillars of the same rocks under the front and back porches. The back porch on the house was 15 or 20 feet off the ground and tilted forward toward the tall wooden steps. The house was and still is sided in gray and black tar paper with tiny sandlike gravel on it. Sort of like roofing. The windows were single pane and nearly floor to ceiling tall with peeling paint.

The first couple months in the house were uneventful, except all the cleaning and getting used to the place. Sometime in October of that year it was cold and raining outside, I was covered up in the full sized bed my younger sister and I shared, she was asleep and the house was dark cold and quiet. I was looking at the closet door because I felt strange about it for some reason, it looked taller to me and brighter than it should be. So I was staring at the top of it, and all of a sudden this really shining Lady stepped right out of it! I sat staight up! She was looking at me with this big smile on her face. I said "who are you?" She floated to the foot of the bed and said in a voice I heard only in my head that sounded like silver bells, " you are going to grow up very special." I was too scared to move. She continued..." when you are a grown up, you will live in Arkansas" I had no idea where or what Arkansas even was. I was only 4 and had never been anywhere but Kentucky as far as I knew. She said that I would marry a preacher and live in AR. Then she reached for my hand and smiled just before she could touch me she faded away. I sat there looking at the door for what seemed to my shocked young mind like forever. Then I climbed behind my sleeping sister and threw the pillow over my head until morning.
I told my dad what the lady said about a week later and he said I was dreaming...sigh, I knew better and was scared to look at the closet at night all the rest of my life there. LOL My family still lives there to this day.
That is my first of many experiences there and other places since then. I will write about those in later blogs.
Oh and by the way, My husband is a Minister and we do live in AR. I met him in Germany while we were both in the Army.

Have a blessed day
Eva
